Softball Starts Season Strong
The Irish Softball team has started the season on a hot streak.  The team boasts an overall record of eight wins and one loss.  Throughout just nine games, the Irish have scored an impressive 106 runs and allowed just 26 runs.  Last season, Irish Softball concluded their season at the semi-state finals in a loss against Decatur Central.

Much of the team's current success is due to a stellar offense and great work on the mound.  Prior to the start of the season, the Irish were picked to finish ninth in the ICGSA Softball Coaches 4A Preseason Poll.  Decatur Central was projected to finish first.

This team is composed of 16 girls and led by five seniors.  Playoffs will begin with Sectionals on May 20 at Warren Central High School.  All home games are played at Cathedral's Brunette Park.
