A great weekend for Irish athletics as two teams and 1 individual brought home a state championship.
Girls Tennis
The Irish tennis team brought home the 2019 state championship and second championship in four years. Claire Koscielski was named the Mental Attitude award winner and finished her career 101-0.

Boys Lacrosse
The Cathedral boys lacrosse team defeated HSE 13-6 to win the 2019 state championship and the programs 5th overall. The Irish got out to a quick start leading 4-1 after the first quarter. After a 5-3 halftime score, the defense shutout HSE in the 3rd quarter to take a 9-3 lead heading into the final quarter.
Sam Bedich was named the 2019 IHSLA State Championship Player of the Game.
Cole Hocker
Cole Hocker added two state championships to his trophy case, winning the 1600m and 800m. Hocker previously won the IHSAA cross country championship in the fall. Overall the boys track & field team finished 4th in the state meet. The 4th place finish is the best finish for Cathedral since 1998.
