We are pleased to announce Joel Russell is Cathedral High School’s new Head Boys Soccer Coach. Joel is no stranger to the program. A life-long soccer enthusiast and learner, Joel has been the Assistant Head Boys Soccer Coach at Cathedral since 2017. During his tenure, Joel’s teams have experienced success winning the City and Sectional championships every year, advancing to the Regional final in 2018.
Off the field, Joel worked with parents and administrators to implement new policies and procedures into the soccer program, notably the Upper 90 Club. Before coaching at Cathedral, Joel coached club soccer in the Indianapolis area since 1998. Joel played two years at Indiana University and two years at Stanford University. As a youth player, Joel co-captained the United States U-17 Youth National Soccer Team at the FIFA U-17 Youth World Cup in Scotland. Joel was a four-year varsity starter at Detroit Country Day High School, winning three state championships.
A graduate of Stanford University, Joel is the Founder and CEO of eimagine technology group. He and his family are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
