Return to Play Summary
July 6, 2020
There are three phases to the return to play beginning on July 6, 2020. The original July 4th Moratorium is back in place with all activities beginning 7/6/2020.
PHASE 1: JULY 6-19
Individual student athletes are limited to 15 total hours of school contact activity per calendar week.
No sport may have more than two activity days per calendar week.
Activity days are limited to three hours per day. (Six hours per calendar week.)
Conditioning is limited to four days per week. Conditioning sessions may be held multiple times each day, each session limited to two hours. Student athletes may attend only one conditioning session per day.
ALL SUMMER ACTIVITIES ARE VOLUNTARY
Attendance will be taken with health screening questions asked.
Parents are asked to pre-screen athletes BEFORE they come to school. Please keep sick athletes home.
Only essential student athletes, student participants, coaches, medical staff, related supervisors, directors, and security should be in attendance. No Parents or fans will be allowed to watch workouts.
Free weight exercises requiring a spotter cannot be conducted. Safety measures in all forms must be strictly enforced in the weight room.
For contact sports, no contact is allowed.
No formal competition is allowed.
Locker rooms will be closed. Athletes must arrive and depart in the clothing they wear to work out in. (Football will need to take helmet/shoulder pads home each day)
The number of athletes able to participate in each school venue will be limited.
All athletes will be responsible for bringing their own water containers daily. Cathedral will provide the ability to refill water bottles while minimizing the amount of contact. NO containers can be shared with each other.
Equipment will be cleaned after each session by coaches.
Athletes/parents will be expected to complete an Acknowledgement of Risk form
All Athletes will need to complete a Pre-Participation Athletic Form from the IHSAA(This is a new form to be completed). Incoming athletes will need to get a physical from a physician prior to July 6 as well as the form above.
PHASE 2: JULY 20-AUGUST 15
Normal summer rules from the IHSAA will apply. No restrictions on the number of activities or hours involved other than standard summer rules

No formal competition is allowed with the exception of girls golf.
Locker rooms will become available on August 3, 2020 with the beginning of Fall Sports.
Athletes are still encouraged to take home workout clothes daily and wash.
Numbers of participants in a school venue will be increased bu.t still limited
Attendance and screenings will continue to take place with the emphasis on Parental pre-screening at home.

PHASE 3: AUGUST 15
FULL COMPETITION MAY BEGIN WITH OTHER TEAMS.
Students must be expected to shower at school or at home and wash workout clothing immediately upon returning to their home. If a student does not have a laundered uniform, he/she may not be allowed to participate in practice or competition.
Spectators, media, and vendors can be present but should implement social distancing and follow established mass gathering guidelines.
NO SPECTATORS/FANS ON THE SIDELINES OF ANY ATHLETIC EVENT
The goal of social distancing is defined by the CDC as 6 feet. If it is not possible to follow these guidelines indoors or outdoors, then create as much distance as possible.
For sidelines, benches, or other holding areas, will be limited to only essential personnel. No spectators or fans will be allowed on the sidelines of any contests.
