The 2023 season was about accomplishment for Cathedral girls tennis.
The Irish won two significant titles and had a chance at another, all while laying a foundation for what could be a strong future for one of Indianapolis’ top high school girls tennis programs.

Mark Noe has decided to step down as boys and girls tennis head coach after an illustrious coaching career. Mark guided the Irish to state championships in 2005 (boys), 2016 (girls), and 2019 (girls) as well as individual state champions in 2016 and 2019. Mark was named state coach of the year in 2005, 2016, and 2019. In addition to the state championships, Mark has helped numerous student athletes achieve their dream of playing collegiate tennis and is the Head Tennis Professional at Devon Country Club. They won’t dwell on what might have been. There’s no point.
But longtime Cathedral High School tennis coach Mark Noe said Irish girls tennis without question would have been really good in 2020 – good enough to again be one of the state’s best programs.

Congratulations to girls tennis head coach Mark Noe on being named the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Assocciation (ICGSA) Tennis Coach of the Year. Noe was also named District 3 Coach of the Year and will coach in the North/South All-Star game.
Noe coached the Lady Irish tennis team to a state championship defeating Park Tudor 3-2. Noe also helped Elle Pittman '21 win the individual state title.

Ellie Pittman '21 won the IHSAA Individual State Championship, her second state championship in two weeks! Pittman defeated Anna Graves of Silver Creek 6-0, 6-0 to win the second girls individual state title in Cathedral history.
In the semifinals Pittman defeated Ellie Myers from Evansville Memorial 6-3, 6-1 and she defeated Halli Trinkle from Providence 6-2, 6-4 in the opening round. Trinkle was the 2018 girls state singles champion. The match lasted a little over an hour with blistering shots from b...

The Irish tennis team brought home the 2019 state championship and second championship in four years. Claire Koscielski was named the Mental Attitude award winner and finished her career 101-0.
