Meg Coleman will go down in Cathedral Tennis lore as one of the most talented and gifted athletes to play for the Lady Irish. She has accumulated over eighty wins in her illustrious career. During her time with the Cathedral, Meg and others set a tone and a work ethic unlike many others from around the state of Indiana. Meg knew how to prepare. Several of the team members followed her lead and set a trend. It was all business on the court! During the Lady Irish 2019 state championship run, the final two matches for Meg lasted a combined 5.5 hours. If it wasn’t for her perseverance and determination, the Lady Irish would not have won these crucial matches vs. #3 Carmel and #2 Park Tudor.

Cole Spau has been an intricate part of this great team since her arrival freshman year. Cole displayed her athleticism and a strong work ethic on the Lady Irish Tennis Team. She improved certain areas of her game every season. The coaching staff knew they could count on Cole and Bella for a high-level performance during the big matches. Cole was paired with Bella Montefalco for almost two years. They built great chemistry together and learned how to win under pressure. Cole and Bella played some great tennis last season. Their marquee event was at the Penn Invitational. The team of Spau and Montefalco were instrumental in defeating three top ten doubles teams in the state of Indiana. Without the wins of the doubles matches, the Lady Irish would have gone down in defeat. They also performed extremely well against the top doubles teams at the regional, semi-state and state during the team state title run last season.

Bella Montefalco will be remembered for her fearless approach to her game and overall effort. This senior class is very special. These young ladies set themselves apart from the rest of the team due to their desire to win and to overcome adversity. Bella was one of the most improved players year end and year out. The coaching staff could always count on Bella and Cole to make adjustments during high pressure situations. Bella’s strength was at the net in combination with great chemistry with Cole Spau. Bella and Cole played great tennis all season. Their marquee event was at the Penn Invitational. Montefalco and Spau were instrumental in defeating three top ten doubles teams in the state of Indiana.

College Attending Next Year: Marquette University Rachel Konesco brought her technically sound game to the Lady Irish Tennis Team and improved each season in her career. Her desire to excell and set herself above many of her teammates was noticed by the coaching staff. Rachel was willing to work on her game during the off-season and come in the next season even better. Her junior year played host to her highlight performances. She played very well at the Penn Team Invitational and was crucial for the team to defeat three of the top ten teams in the state.
