Cole Hocker won the 2018 State Championship with a time of 15:21.4. He averaged 4:58 per mile. The second place finisher was 16 seconds behind Hocker. 

The boys cross country team finished second in the state meet 146 points. Carmel finished first with 136. Ryan Pehlman finished with a time of 16:35 and Nick Hruskoci finished at 16:36. The Irish top 5 averaged 16:26.
