It is hard to believe that there will be no 2020 spring sports. In all of my years of tennis coaching since 1987, I and obviously many of us are witnessing a rare and sad moment in our lifetime. The season had a lot of promise with four of the starters back from our 2019 championship season. This squad was going to be a pre-season top 5 ranked team in Indiana. Congratulations to girls tennis head coach Mark Noe on being named the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Assocciation (ICGSA) Tennis Coach of the Year. Noe was also named District 3 Coach of the Year and will coach in the North/South All-Star game.
Noe coached the Lady Irish tennis team to a state championship defeating Park Tudor 3-2. Noe also helped Elle Pittman '21 win the individual state title.
Ellie Pittman '21 won the IHSAA Individual State Championship, her second state championship in two weeks! Pittman defeated Anna Graves of Silver Creek 6-0, 6-0 to win the second girls individual state title in Cathedral history.

Ranked Number #1 in the state for the fourth straight week
After a canceled scrimmage against North Central, the girls tennis team will officially begin their season on Wednesday, April 10 against Guerin Catholic at home. Head Coach Mark Noe is entering his 17th season with the team.
The team is composed of nine players, led by team captain, Claire Koscielski.

Senior Claire Koscielski will be playing college tennis for the University of Cincinnati Lady Bearcats next fall. Claire is a standout and was an intricate part of the 2016 state championship team and 2018 team finalist.
In 2018, Claire and Meg Coleman won the 2018 Indiana State doubles championships without dropping a set during their great run.
