Hocker Wins State Championship, Team Finishes Second
Cole Hocker won the 2018 State Championship with a time of 15:21.4. He averaged 4:58 per mile. The second place finisher was 16 seconds behind Hocker.  The boys cross country team finished second in the state meet 146 points. Carmel finished first with 136. Irish Soccer Wins State Championship
The Lady Irish Soccer team defeated South Bend St. Joseph 1-0 to win the state championship! The 2018 title is the third in program history. Maddie Wirth scored the deciding goal 93 seconds into the game and the Irish played lock down defense the rest of the way. Senior goal keeper Sophia Saucernman stopped 22 St Joseph attacks as she recorded her seventh shutout this season.   Head coach Marc Behringer told the Indy Star "Sophia has done that all year long. We gave up two goals the entire tournament and one was on a penalty kick. She only saw one ball get past her in the entire tournament. It's not because she doesn't face shots. She does.
