In the first round, Cathedral faced perennial power Delta and it was a great match between two good teams. Cathedral won 4 – 1, with 2 of the Irish wins going 3 sets.
Next up was #4 Homestead. Both doubles teams played well (#2 doubles had their best match of the year) and won, but all 3 singles courts struggled against very good opponents. The Irish lost 2 – 3 to Homestead.
