COVID 19 Policy and Return to Play Procedures
All athletes that test positive for COVID 19 must meet the following criteria before returning to practice or competition:
- Athlete must be 5 days out from positive test (positive test is day zero)
- Athlete is asymptomatic (with exception of loss of taste/smell)
- Less than 4 days of fever>100.4 and <1 week of myalgia/chills/lethargy
- Must not experience chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, severe fatigue, palpitations/heart racing.
Athletes that meet these criteria may start a 3 day return to play protocol that must be supervised by a member of the Cathedral High School Athletic Training Staff
Athletes that experience chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, severe fatigue, palpitations/heart racing must be cleared by a primary care physician or primary care sports medicine provider before beginning return to play progression
Athletes that experience >4 days of fever and/or >1 week of symptoms must be cleared by a primary care physician or sports medicine primary care physician before beginning return to play progression
***If athlete should experience chest pain, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, dizziness or palpitations as they resume activity must stop activity and will need to be seen by primary care physician or primary care sports medicine provider
