In the second match of the Three Way Meet at Noblesville on Saturday, September 19, Cathedral Varsity and JV volleyball teams squared up against the Cougars of Greenfield-Central.

The Irish were on the verge of dropping the opening set as they found themselves on the bottom side of a 23-24 score but stormed back with two kills and a service ace to take the set 26-24 over the Cougars. Set two was all Greenfield-Central until Cathedral fought back to get close at 15-17, but the Irish faltered down the stretch by giving up an 0-8 run to drop the set 15-25 to the Cougars. With the match knotted at one set apiece, the Irish settled into a rhythm and took set three 25-23 then closed out the match with a set four win by the same 25-23 score. The 3-1 match win (26-24, 15-25, 25-23, 25-23) puts the Irish all square at 7-7 on the season.
