Andy Gruber - Head Coach
Coach Gruber has led the varsity boys’ lacrosse team since its inception in 2001. During that time, the team has amassed 257 wins, 15 final fours, 11 state championship game appearances, and 5 state championships. The Boys’ Lacrosse team has also earned honors in the US Lacrosse / Nike Midwest Top 10 on four occasions (2013 10th; 2016 6th; 2017 3rd; 2019 10th). The Boys’ Lacrosse team has produced 114 All-State Players, 2 Academic All-Americans, and 12 All-Americans. Coach Gruber has been joined by his long time staff: Ryan Haas, Sam Hill, Kyle Mates (CHS ’05), Trevor Blossom (JV) , Mark Saba (Freshman), and Kevin Maher (Freshman); and never forgets Coach Kevin “Doc” Rodgers (2003-2017). Coach Gruber and his wife Lisa have two Cathedral graduates, Jacob ’17 and Noah ’19, and a current Cathedral student, Peter ’23.
