The girls soccer team opened their home schedule against the Westfield Shamrocks this past Monday. The JV team dominated the match on their way to a 2-0 lead. with goals by sophomore Bella Dausman and freshman Ellle Lewis.  The Shamrocks would not quit and scored twice in the closing minutes to deny the Irish the victory. The girls soccer program traveled to Carmel for matches last weekend. The competition was strong and the ladies performed well. The JV team played the Carmel JV to a 0-0 score in a match ended just 6 minutes into the second half due to lightning. They followed that evening with a 2-1 loss that saw the Irish fight back from a 2-0 deficit. The goal was scored by Junior Mary White with an assist from Gracie Jarrett. The Cathedral girls traveled to Avon with tired legs and missing a couple players due to minor injuries.  Only 48 hours after a tough match against Noblesville, the Irish challenged the 3A #8 Orioles on a wet evening.  Whether it was the conditions or something else altogether, there were plenty of goals.
