Ed is a 1999 graduate of Cathedral High School. While at Cathedral, Ed received 8
varsity letters in football, basketball, and baseball. He was fortunate to win two
state championships. One in football as a member of the undefeated 1996 team and
one as a member of the 1997-1998 basketball team. In 1996-1997, the final year of
single class basketball, he was a member of the Hinkle Regional Championship. He
earned 4 of his varsity letters as a member of the Cathedral Baseball program. As a
player in the baseball program, he was a member of the 1998 and 1999 Regional
Championship teams. During his summers, he played baseball in the Indiana Bulls
organization. After high school, Ed went on to continue his education at the
University of Dayton where he was a member of their baseball program.
After graduation, from the University of Dayton in 2003, Ed came back to Cathedral
to teach in the theology department and be an assistant coach in baseball and girls’
basketball. As a varsity assistant coach in the baseball program for 9 years, he was
on staff for 8 City Championships, 7 Sectional Championships, 6 Regional
Championships, 4 Semi-State Championships, and 1 State Championship. In 2012,
Ed took the opportunity to become the head coach of the Lady Irish Basketball
program. After serving as the girls’ basketball head coach for five years, Ed
transitioned to the head coach of the Cathedral High School Baseball Program in the
summer of 2016. The Fighting Irish Baseball program won the 2017 4A State
Championship with a 29-0 record and were the 4A State Runners-up in 2018 and 2022.
Ed and his wife, Jody ’98, live on the Northeast side of Indianapolis and are members
of St. Pius X Parish. Ed and Jody have three children, Morgan (Junior), Ryan (Freshman), and Taylor Grace (7th grade).
